MobilePaymentsToday: European payments industry group seeks additional extension on PSD2-SCA
The European Association of Payment Service Providers for Merchants sent an open letter to the regulators last Wednesday, asking to delay the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) deadline. Previously, regulators extended the SCA deadline with 12 months from the deadline of September 14, 2019.
However, the European Association of Payment Service Providers for Merchants believes this is not sufficient. They propose an extension of 18 months for most of the industry, and an extension of 36 months for certain sectors like the travel industry.
The regulators have not yet responded to the request.
